We are running limited courses to help attendees to understand low impact technology and to become intelligent customers in the green marketplace.

Sorry for the delay in setting some new dates for courses. We have lots of excuses but the bottom line is that we've been busy, busy, busy!

The following courses are offered on a first come first served basis, details on course days are given further down the page.

'Find out how to choose safe and natural products for your skin and household cleaning, and learn how to make your own products with a few basic ingredients. Lots of goodies to take home!'

An introduction to all aspects of sustainable living in the 21st century
Practical demonstrations of self sufficiency, solar power, water power and management, harnessing wind power, waste management (recycling/ compost/loos) biodiesel.

Build your own biodiesel reactor
Bring a 2 litre plastic bottle of used cooking oil and you'll turn it into high grade biodiesel and be shown how to build a domestic scale reactor. Theory will also be included in digestible form!

Harness the wind
It's a fact - performance is limited by the laws of physics. We'll explain what is achievable from a given blades, turbine and mast. Siting, planning to grid link or not to grid link all will be answered. What options are available and best bang for the bucks.

 

Course days are typically organised as follows

Time Activity
0930 - 1000 Course meets with organic tea, coffee and nibbles
1000 - 1230 Introduction, theory (!), and practical demonstrations
1230 - 1330 Lunch break - you are invited to join us - organic and tasty (omnivores, vegetarians and vegans all catered for) We are never sure how many people will be there - long arms are an advantage!
1330 - 1630 More theory and practical work
1630 - 1730 Tea, coffee and more nibbles - an opportunity to discuss individual projects.

Prices, Transport and Accommodation

Course prices are £165 (inc VAT), except Brigit's Skin Care & Household Cleaner Workshop which is £130 (inc VAT).

Payment details will be forwarded if an applicant is given a place. Full payment is required 21 days before the course date.

In an attempt to make the course available to people on lower incomes, we offer a limited number of concessions. To apply for a concession please email us at courses@itsnoteasybeinggreen.org

We are a short distance from the local train station; transport can be arranged if necessary.
Details of B&Bs in the village are available upon booking.
Full directions will be provided once payment has been cleared.
